Requesting and activating digital keys

If you wish to request and activate one or more digital keys to access the government's online services, you can follow one of two procedures: either online with your eID or itsme® or at local registration offices or with the FPS BOSA.

    • Our services

      The first procedure is performed entirely online. In this case, go to the my digital keys website and log in using your eID or itsme®. You will then be able to activate the digital keys of your choice.

      Digital keys can be requested and activated at a local registration office for citizens who cannot use the online procedure via eID or itsme®, as well as for foreign border workers and resident or non-resident foreigners who do not hold a residence permit with certificates.

      • What if you don't have an eID or itsme®, but you want to request and activate your digital keys to access the Government's online services? In this case, make an appointment with a local registration office (PDF, 185.38 KB) of your choice or with the FPS BOSA. They will help you create alternative digital keys.
      • During this appointment, your identity will be checked against your identity card or passport. You must have a personal email address.

      After identification, an activation code will be issued to you on paper, and an email containing an activation link will be sent to your personal email address.

      • In your personal mailbox, open the email entitled "CSAM - my digital keys: activation".
      • In this email, click on the red "activate your digital keys" button.
      • This will take you to the site where you can enter the activation code.
      • Enter the activation code you received on paper and click "next".
      • You will then see a screen where you can activate a digital key of your choice.

      We recommend that you activate the "security code sent by email" digital key. This is the simplest and most secure key. You will find the information you need to activate this digital key in the getting started card (PDF, 427.27 KB).
