DG Simplification and Digitalisation

The Directorate-General for Simplification and Digitalisation (DG SD) supports federal organisations in their digitalisation and proposes measures to reduce the administrative burden for businesses and citizens.

  • As a centre of expertise in new digital technologies and their use, the DG develops cross-cutting platforms and services in co-creation/co-sourcing with its clients.

    In concrete terms, DG Simplification and Digitalisation:

    • develops the government's digital strategy and standards
    • implements and monitors the digital transformation of the federal administration
    • develops cross-cutting digital platforms and services in collaboration with federal organisations
    • proposes measures to reduce administrative complexity and burdens for businesses, citizens, associations and public administrations
    • calculates the costs arising from regulations and administrative formalities
    • promotes, proposes and coordinates administrative simplification initiatives within the federal administration and other organisations
